The Golden Shadow Method
Omega Institute
August 21-23, 2026
SAVE THE DATE
Join Melanie Ryan, best-selling author, psychotherapist, and Buddhist teacher for a weekend retreat into the “golden shadow” where your most beautiful, positive qualities are stored. Using Jungian psychology, Buddhist philosophy, and Indigenous wisdom, we will journey into the unconscious and embrace the positive qualities that are suppressed. These include our psychic abilities, our creativity, joy, and playfulness. We will transmute dark shadow blocks into light, transmuting lower frequencies into higher vibrations of love, harmony, wisdom and joy. This is a deep remembering of the powerful love and light that lives within.

Activating The Lion’s Roar
In Buddhist tradition, the Lion is the symbol of courage. True courage is not about avoiding suffering. It is about having the bravery to completely embrace the raw, vulnerable, and painful realities of the human experience. The Lion’s Roar is the sound of freedom. It cuts through fear, anger, and self-doubt. By going against negative patterns and limiting beliefs, we remember our inherent goodness. This retreat is a call to action to awaken that inner power, allowing all of life’s experiences to be the fuel for the opening of your heart, a genuine heart of love, compassion, and wisdom.

Tragical Documentary in Bhutan
In October 2026, Melanie Ryan, Andy Steigmeier, and filmmaker Joe Plante will travel to Bhutan — known as the “Happiest Country in the World” — to complete filming. There, within Himalayan monasteries and sacred landscapes, Buddhist teachers, lamas, and practitioners will share teachings on impermanence, rebirth, and the sacred nature of death.
The film will capture:
- Rarely visited Himalayan mountain temples
- Intimate ceremonies with Buddhist masters
- Living spiritual traditions of archery and primitive skills passed down for centuries
- Cultural expressions of reverence and joy
Tragical is a journey of Justin’s Spirit helping Melanie & Andy, and all of humanity transform grief into a magical awakening of consciousness.
It invites us all to reflect ~
Who are we beyond the body?
What if understanding death allows us to live more fully?
What if remembering our impermanence is the doorway to inner peace and joy?
This documentary is dedicated to the benefit of all beings.
